WORSHIP COMMISSION

Worship commission members advise and assist the Rector in planning all aspects of worship services throughout the year. Acolytes, the Altar Guild, choir, assisting ministers and ushers are coordinated by this commission.

EDUCATION COMMISSION

The Education Commission members assist the Director of Christian Formation to plan, implement and evaluate Christian Education programs for parishioners of all ages.

EVANGELISM COMMISSION

Evangelism Commission members welcome visitors, bring new members to St. Catherine’s, and encourage new members to become active members of our parish life.

PASTORAL CARE COMMISSION

The members of the Pastoral Care Commission, in consultation with Father Allen, visit parishioners who are unable to attend church. Eucharistic Visitors are licensed by the Bishop and bring communion to church members in the hospital, residential facilities, or at home. Ministry members also provide support with phone calls, greeting cards, meals and prayer.

BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS COMMITTEE

The Building and Grounds Committee members work to keep the physical property of St. Catherine’s a safe, inviting and welcoming place to worship God. This committee oversees maintenance and organizes volunteer workdays.

FINANCE COMMITTEE

Finance Committee members provide financial oversight for the church. Members oversee budgeting, financial planning and reporting to ensure good stewardship of the congregation’s assets.

STEWARDSHIP COMMITTEE

Stewardship Committee members inform and encourage each parishioner to consider their blessings and to return a portion of these blessings to the Lord. Parishioners contribute their time, talents, and treasure to St. Catherine’s through active participation on Commissions and Committees, and through tithing.

BROTHERHOOD AND SISTERHOOD OF THE LOAVES AND FISHES

Teams of cooks prepare a complete breakfast for the congregation and guests every Sunday. This ministry brings all of our parishioners together as one extended church family at one table.

WHAT DO WE DO? – We provide breakfast for all after 10 am service each Sunday.  It is our goal to support a ministry that brings all our parishioners together as one extended church family at one table.  We provide a complete breakfast, with varying menus, for the entire congregation each Sunday.  We have done this since June 1988, 29 years.  Come join us this Sunday.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE? – We are a kitchen run by volunteer parishioners male and female.  Now that we have a sisterhood we foresee some friendly competition between male and female teams.  We strongly encourage young and the more “mature” to volunteer their skills and services.  Cooking is an art that requires practice, you are never too young to begin. Their is no membership fee to join, no monthly meetings, no committee reports to fill out, no memos or motions.  The only thing that goes on our table is FOOD.

H.O.P.E.

The Hillsborough Organization for Progress and Equality (H.O.P.E.) is a justice ministry, which seeks long term solutions to inequality. Parishioners from St. Catherine’s participate with believers from other local congregations to address such issues as incarceration of youth, affordable housing and public transportation for hourly-wage workers.

PARISH LIFE MINISTRY

Parish Life members minister to those who are members of St. Catherine’s. They organize celebrations such as the Blessing of the Animals, the Seder Supper, collection of the Salvation Army Christmas stockings, and work with other commissions to plan and hold social gathering.
