Ancient and New
New this Lent to St. Catherine’s is a Sunday Evening Contemporary Service with Music 5:30 p.m. Abide in My Love
This new offering begins Sunday February 18th ( which happens to be both my birthday, and Renee’ Graham’s birthday – we are celebrating by being part of the music ministry for this service! )
Come and see! Come as you are! No experience necessary.
Taize’ Wisdom Chants by Darlene Franz Guitar Piano Flute Voices
While keeping the ancient structure of the eucharist we will add new prayers, a modern Eucharistic prayer, innovative responses to the Gospel, icons and candles, more silence, and a variety of beautiful sacred music – from modern sacred chants such as Taize’ and those from the Wisdom schools by Darlene Franz, to modern Christian, to folk and even jazz music. We will be experimenting with different types of music throughout 2018.
Musicians welcome!
If you play an instrument or wish to be a part of the core of singers, please contact Mother Susan+ 304 -926-4554 [email protected] or the church office.
