St Catherine’s adult choir is a volunteer ensemble of sixteen to twenty-five members. The choir rehearses on Wednesday night each week from 7:30 to 9:00 and provides anthems and musical leadership for the 10:00 Sunday morning service as well as special seasonal services throughout the liturgical year. The choir repertoire covers a wide range of musical styles and historical periods, from standard choral classics to contemporary compositions.
The current conductor of the choir is Dr. John Carmichael, nationally and internationally recognized Director of Bands at the University of South Florida. His wife, Alisa Carmichael, serves as accompanist for the choir and organist for church services.
Music is an integral part of worship at St Catherine’s and the choir plays an important role in leading congregational singing and enhancing our worship experience. New singers are always welcome! For more information, please contact John or Alisa Carmichael (813-531-9252).
The Children’s Choir at St. Catherine’s is open to all children in Grades 1-4. They meet on Sundays immediately following the 10:00 service. The choir sings for services during the holiday seasons and occasionally participates in singing with the adult choir for side-by-side experiences.
